As an academic librarian, I provide instruction and consultation across undergraduate and graduate programs in the areas of evidence synthesis, bibliometrics and information literacy. My teaching supports students, researchers, and faculty in developing the skills needed to effectively discover, evaluate, manage, and apply information throughout the research process.

In evidence synthesis, I teach systematic approaches for identifying, evaluating, and integrating findings from multiple sources of research to answer focused questions. Instruction includes developing review protocols, constructing comprehensive search strategies, managing search results, documenting methods, and understanding different evidence synthesis methodologies, including systematic reviews, meta-analyses, scoping reviews, and rapid reviews. These skills help students and researchers synthesize evidence, identify knowledge gaps, and contribute to evidence-informed practice and policy.

In bibliometrics, I introduce students and researchers to quantitative approaches for analyzing scholarly communication and research impact. Instruction covers topics such as citation analysis, publication metrics, research evaluation, scholarly influence, collaboration networks, and emerging research trends. Learners gain an understanding of how bibliometric methods can be used to assess research productivity, identify influential authors and publications, map the development of academic fields, and support strategic decision-making in research and higher education.

In information literacy instruction, I help learners recognize information needs, develop effective search strategies, critically evaluate sources, distinguish credible evidence from misinformation, and use information ethically and responsibly. These skills enable students to engage confidently with scholarly and professional literature, conduct independent research, and make informed decisions in academic and real-world contexts.

Across all levels of instruction, I emphasize critical thinking, research rigor, transparency, and the effective use of information resources and technologies. My teaching is tailored to the needs of diverse disciplines and learner populations, supporting the development of lifelong learning skills and advancing scholarly success from foundational undergraduate coursework to advanced graduate and faculty research.
